Play Schieber online
Schieber is the Jass Switzerland plays most: two teams of two, with partners sitting opposite each other. On wyys.ch you play it free in your browser, against three bots straight away or at a table you open for your friends. The game checks every move and counts the multipliers and your Weis and Stöck, the bonus combinations in your hand.
How it works
- The player to the dealer’s right calls a trump suit, Obenabe (no trump, Aces high) or Undenufe (no trump, Sixes high), or says Schieben and passes the choice to their partner, who then has to call.
- You have to follow suit but may trump at any time, and you may undertrump only when you have nothing but trumps left.
- You play to 2,500 points, and every call has its own multiplier for tricks, Weis, Stöck and the Match.

Jass tools
- Jass scoreboard The Jasstafel is the slate with the chalk Z that Swiss players keep score on at a real table, and for Coiffeur there is the Coiffeur chart.
- Printable scoreboard You put together a sheet with the Z or with the Coiffeur chart, then print it on A4 or save it as a PDF.
- Weis calculator You tap your cards, and the calculator shows every Weis, its points and the Stöck.
- Points calculator The calculator adds up tricks, Weis, Stöck and Match times the multiplier and tells you how many points you still need to reach the target.
- Quiz: can I play that? In ten short tricks you tap the cards you may play, and every answer explains the rule.
Frequently asked questions
- How many points are there in a round of Schieber?
- Every round is worth 157 points: 152 in the cards and 5 for the last trick. If a team takes all nine tricks, that’s a Match, and it scores 100 points on top, 257 in all.
- How many points do you play Schieber to?
- With multipliers most people play to 2,500 points, without them to 1,000. On wyys.ch 2,500 is the default, and the host can set a different number at the table. Under the official Swiss Jass rules you play to 1,000 points and everything counts once.
- How much is each call worth?
- Here, Acorns and Roses count once, Bells and Shields double, and Obenabe and Undenufe three times. The multiplier applies to everything scored in that round: tricks, Match, Weis and Stöck. At some tables Undenufe counts four times, and when you play to 1,000 everything counts once.
- Who starts in Schieber?
- On wyys.ch, whoever holds the Seven of Roses starts the first game, or the Seven of Hearts with French cards. After that the player to the dealer’s right always calls trump, and the deal moves on by one seat every round. At other tables the first dealer is decided by a draw.
- What is the Bergpreis?
- The Bergpreis goes to the team that first reaches an agreed mark on the way to the target. Usually the mark is half the target. On wyys.ch you can choose it. By default it is 1,500, and the host can pick half the target or a number of their own instead, or leave the Bergpreis out.
