Privacy
This page explains which data wyys.ch processes, what for and for how long. The site needs no account and sets no cookies. It shows no ads and loads no fonts or scripts from other providers, with one exception: the visitor statistics from Cloudflare, described further down.

Who is responsible
The operator of wyys.ch is responsible for processing your data. You can reach the operator at info@wyys.ch, which is also the address for any question about your data.
In your browser
In your browser’s local storage, the site keeps your name, your settings, a randomly generated ID and the code of the last table you sat at. It also keeps the language you chose and whether you dismissed the note about the other language. While a tab is open, the site also remembers, for that tab, the language of the last page you read. If you play solo, the state of your game is kept there too, so you can carry on later. This data stays in your browser. Only your name and your ID go to the server, and only when you sit down at a table. You can delete all of it at any time by clearing the site data for wyys.ch in your browser.
At a table
When you sit down at a table, the server receives your name, your ID and your moves. For each table it stores the settings, the seats with the players’ names and IDs, the moves played and any open votes, so that a table can carry on after a dropped connection or a restart of the server. If a table votes a player out, that player’s ID stays stored with the table so that they cannot come back with the same ID.
All of a table’s data is deleted as soon as the table closes, and no later than 24 hours after the last activity. No profile is kept across tables.
Public tables
If a table is public, the home page shows every visitor its code, the name of the person who opened it, the game and how many seats are taken. The entry disappears as soon as the table becomes private, ends or is closed.
Chat
Only the people at the same table see chat messages. The server keeps the last 50 messages in memory so that you can see them again after a dropped connection. They are never saved, and they disappear with the table.
Bots in other browsers
To keep the server’s computing time low, another player’s browser at the table sometimes works out a bot’s moves. That browser receives the cards of the one seat the bot plays, but no names and no IDs. The same goes for the seat of someone who is away for the moment and whose cards a bot is playing in the meantime.
Hosting and connection data
The site runs on Cloudflare, and Cloudflare operates the website and the tables on our behalf. This generates the connection data that is technically necessary, above all your IP address. The site itself uses the IP address only in memory, to limit how many connections and tables can come from one address, and does not store it. Cloudflare keeps operational logs with the server’s error messages. Chat text is not in them.
Cloudflare is based in the USA and may process data there as well. The transfer rests on Cloudflare’s certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Should that certification lapse, Cloudflare relies on standard contractual clauses. How long Cloudflare keeps its own logs is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Visitor statistics
To see how often the site is visited and how fast it loads, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare reports the page’s address without any parameters, the page you came from, your browser, your device and the load times. From your IP address Cloudflare derives only the country. According to Cloudflare, it uses neither cookies nor your browser’s storage for this and does not recognise individual visitors. We see only aggregated numbers.
Problem reports by email
The ‘Report a problem’ link opens your email app with a message already filled in. It contains the site version, the page address, your browser, the window size, the connection status and the time, and at a table also the table code, the game and your seat. Your name and your ID are not in it. What you send is up to you. The email is used only to fix the problem and is deleted afterwards.
No sharing
We do not pass data on to third parties, we do not sell any, and we use it neither for advertising nor for profiling.
Your rights
You can ask what data we process about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. To do so, write to info@wyys.ch. Because a table’s data is deleted after 24 hours at the latest, most of it only exists in your own browser anyway, where you can delete it yourself. You can also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
